Frequently asked questions

Getting started

What is Kyool for Teams?

Kyool for Teams is a workplace wellness and accountability platform. Employees take part in fitness and wellness activities through small accountability groups called FABs, so participation is social rather than solitary. It is built to improve wellness participation while creating natural connection between coworkers.

Is Kyool another employee leaderboard?

No. A company-wide leaderboard asks who did the most. Kyool asks whether a small group showed up for each other. The mechanism is consistency inside a FAB, not ranking across the whole company. Company-wide challenges and leaderboards can complement FABs later — they are not what the product is built on.

Can we start with only one department?

Yes. A Kyool Team Pilot is designed to start small — one team, department, office or employee group. The pilot covers up to 50 employees over 60 days, with no company-wide rollout required.

Is the Kyool app generally available?

Kyool is currently in beta. iOS builds are distributed through a public TestFlight beta, and Android access is arranged on request. Kyool for Teams starts as a hands-on pilot for that reason — we run it with you rather than handing over a self-serve portal.

FABs

What is a FAB?

A FAB is a Fitness Accountability Buddy group. Employees join a small group of 2–6 coworkers, work toward a shared activity goal, and encourage one another to stay consistent. The group keeps a shared streak, so showing up matters to everyone in it.

How many employees can be in a FAB?

Kyool FABs are intentionally small — generally 2 to 6 participants — so each person's participation is visible and matters to the group.

Do employees have to work out together?

No. Employees complete their activity independently, on their own schedule, while still working toward the same shared goal as their FAB. Together does not have to mean at the same time.

Activities

What kinds of activities can employees do?

Kyool covers walking, running, jogging, cycling, hiking, swimming, gym workouts, bodyweight and functional training, HIIT, yoga, stretching, pilates and mobility work, a range of sports, seasonal activities, and mind-and-wellness sessions such as meditation and breathing. Hydration is supported as its own FAB type, with a daily water goal and reminders. If nothing on the list fits, a team can define a custom activity.

Can a team run a hydration challenge?

Yes. Hydration is a dedicated FAB type rather than a workout: the group sets a daily water target and reminder times, members log intake through the day, and the FAB can see who has hit their goal. It works well as a low-barrier first challenge because everyone can take part regardless of fitness level. Hydration FABs build a shared streak; the shared Star applies to goals with a measurable activity target.

Streaks & Stars

What is the difference between a shared streak and a shared Star?

The shared streak measures ongoing consistency — the run of days the FAB keeps going. A shared Star marks a single day when every active member genuinely completed the goal, so it is a group achievement rather than a top performer's. Stars apply to shared goals with a measurable daily target, such as a walking or running distance; hydration and gym-plan FABs keep a streak without earning Stars.

Remote & hybrid

Can remote employees participate?

Yes. Kyool is designed so employees can take part from different locations and in different time zones. Participation does not require everyone to exercise together at the same moment.

Devices & integrations

Does Kyool integrate with Apple Health, Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin or Strava?

Kyool reads from Apple Health on iOS and Health Connect on Android, both read-only and only after the employee grants permission, so workouts do not have to be entered by hand. Health Connect is what surfaces data from apps like Google Fit and Samsung Health on Android; there is no direct Google Fit integration. Apple Watch is supported and is detected automatically when the watch is paired and the Kyool watch app is installed. Fitbit can be connected from Settings to sync activity, heart rate and sleep. Garmin support is listed in the app as coming soon and is not available today. There is no Strava integration.

Privacy

Does Kyool share employee health information with employers?

Kyool for Teams is designed around participation and engagement rather than employer access to unnecessary personal health information. Employers should not receive detailed individual health records. If your organization has specific privacy or security requirements, contact us and we will walk through the details with you.

Pricing

How much does Kyool for Teams cost?

Kyool for Teams starts with a one-off Team Pilot covering up to 50 employees for 60 days, after which pricing is per employee per month, billed monthly or annually. Kyool publishes a separate list price for each market it sells in — the United States, India, the United Kingdom, Europe, Canada and Australia — so see the pricing page and choose your region for the exact figures.

Can large organizations use Kyool?

Yes. There is no headcount ceiling on the product. Above 500 employees we price individually and plan the rollout with you, so get in touch about custom deployment and pricing.

Employer questions

Can companies organize cross-department FABs?

Yes. Companies can structure a program around departments, locations or cross-functional groups while employees take part through FABs. Automatic grouping by department or location is planned for Kyool for Teams; during a pilot we help you set the groups up.
